One laughing twosome
with twin Dalmatians
are dressed in jogger’s clothes,
and waltz, hand-in-hand,
waiting for the crosswalk to clear.
A long-beaked crane
stops still—
in the middle of an elementary school playground
on a Saturday. Posing,
like a plastic lawn flamingo.
The Spring-born Coyote
hunts on the edge
where lemon field meets
white picket fence.
He emerges, still hungry.
