A Sailboat drifting, listing, sinking
Drifting on a grey-green sea
Fog clinging like an unwanted lover
Its embrace clouding sun, moon, stars
Listing, a broken mast piercing the sky
Mist playing like smoke among the jagged pieces
The waves’ gentle touch smothering the ships dying groans
Sinking slowly, water splashing across the decks
Leaky holes pierce the hull, fatal stab-wounds
There is nowhere to go but down
A Sailboat drifting, listing, sinking
Alone, it kisses the ocean’s floor
