Emma Thompson is an English major with a Creative Writing emphasis, and plans to enroll in a library science Masters program after graduation this May. When she’s not busy running the English Club, Emma spends her time writing over dramatic poems and murderous stripper stories, and petting her grumpy cat Oreo.
JENNIFER JOHNSEN

Jennifer Johnsen is an English major with an emphasis in Education and will be a high school English teacher this fall with the Teach For America corps. Jennifer’s sun is in Sagittarius, and her moon and rising are both in Aquarius. When she’s not busy wrangling freshmen as a Resident Advisor or as a Peer Consultant at the Writing and Multiliteracy Center, she enjoys petting Emma’s grumpy cat, Oreo.

Loving to delve into the world of stories and dreams of writing for video games, movies and all else pop culture, Samantha wants the Island Fox and her last year as a student to be the best yet. My name is Mallory Lorenz and I’m the Art Director! I really love being able to interpret art, whether in animation, paintings, or sketches! In my free time, I usually spend it either playing video games or just relaxing and taking a nice nap! I hope that the Island Fox this year will turn out spectacular!

Marjorie Huot is an English Major with an emphasis in Creative Writing and Performing Arts minor. She enjoys live music, trips to Disneyland, and expressing how Gone Girl is one of the greatest films of all time without spoiling the film. She hopes to pursue a career in songwriting and screenwriting after she graduates in the Fall of 2020.

My name is Lisa Brand and I’m the Budget and Technical Director of the Island Fox. My degree is in English with an emphasis on creative writing with a minor in Chicanx Studies. I love to write, but my real passion is book editing, which is something I’ve been doing for almost a decade now.

I’m an English major with an emphasis in creative writing completing my last semester at CI. I’ve been writing my own stories since I was a little kid and I don’t plan on stopping anytime soon. I’m currently working on a 60 page screenplay for my Capstone, along with a video game I’m creating with some friends!
MAX CASTRO

Suave, sleek, and stylish—these qualities do not describe Max Castro. Instead, Max would characterize himself like a ‘92 Camry wagon: spacious, reliable, and occasionally there’s that weird smell you just can’t quite put your finger on. Max will be graduating with a bachelor’s degree in English at the end of 2020 and hopes to teach English as a second language in Japan.

Amanda Condon is a senior English major with Creative Writing emphasis. She will be attending the University of Washington’s online Master’s of Library Science program starting in the fall to pursue her dream of becoming a Children’s Librarian. In her spare time, she writes poetry and drinks too much tea.

Currently in his senior year at CSUCI, Petre Motiu is an English Major with a creative writing concentration. When he graduates at the end of spring, he’s moving on to UC Berkeley to earn a certificate in Journalism and soon afterward he will attend Vancouver Film school in the fall studying writing for film, television and games in hopes of getting a job as a game developer or screenwriter. In his spare time, he writes fiction for the video games he enjoys and connecting with friends and family when time permits.

Rocio Martinez is a first generation student who will be graduating this spring with a Major in Communications with an emphasis in Organizational and a Minor in Creative Writing. She plans to take a year off school to focus on family and get the chance to travel before going to grad school. In the small free time she has she spends it watching her shows, hanging out with her friends, or getting the sleep that she needs/deserves.

Elijah Titcher is an English major and former art minor. He is a writer and lead artist for Goblin Magazine which he runs with fellow Island Fox employee, Conner Arnold. Before he dies, Elijah hopes to one day manage a larger print publication of his own, become a ghostwriter for the stars, direct some movies, and eventually move out of his parent’s house.

Elizabeth Ayala, The Island Fox Submissions Director, working towards a BA in English with an emphasis in Creative Writing at CSUCI. Next fall I will be attending graduate school to pursue more studies. I am a writer, hoping to publish in the near future.
